Jefferson Cup 2009
Power Orange played in the Jefferson Cup 2009 tournament, ranked as the #2 boys soccer tournament in the country! Being a first time participant, the team was placed in the U-11 Boys Premier White Division. Unfortunately, the weekend was rainy and wet and the entire tournament was canceled for Sunday, the second day. On Saturday, the team was able to get in two rainy matches against Loudoun Black and CASL 97 Premiere Black (NC).
Time to Play!!!
Game 1 - Power Orange played our local rival Loudoun Black. The game started slowly, but was dominated for the most part by Power Orange. The team went on to win it by a score of 3-0.
Game 2 - Power Orange faced a very good North Carolina based CASL 97 Premiere Black team. CASL made the most of their opportunities while Power missed on their chances for goals. CASL cruised to an easy win and left Power Orange with a 7-0 defeat.
With the Sunday games being canceled, Power Orange ended up in second place in their flight. The final standings were as follows:
